Specifications for Browning & Watermark Remover - Stain Remover For Carpet & Upholstery
I'm your best mate after a flood.
Browning & Watermark Remover is a fast-acting formula specially developed to remove browning, watermark, urine and tannin stains on carpet and upholstery. Browning & Watermark Remover is also used in flood restoration and general use where neutralising and reversing alkaline browning stains is required. It’s also highly effective on other stains such as urine, coffee and some dye stains.
Browning & Watermark Remover is low in odour, self-neutralising, leaves no residues and requires no rinsing after use. You can apply the product and leave with nothing more to do.
Browning & Watermark Remover is a highly innovative formula (from the textile industry) with exclusive super wetting and penetrating technology that is years ahead of its competitors. The high penetration formulation ensures that the fibres are treated not just on the surface, but deep down in the pile. It is safe to use on synthetic and natural fibres but should always be pre-tested on fine and delicate fabrics before use.
Where to use
Browning & Watermark Remover is suitable for use on carpets and upholstery. It's safe on almost every washable/wettable fabric. Browning & Watermark Remover is most famous for its ability to remove stains such as browning discolouration, watermarks, coffee, urine, tannin, fruit juice, many dye stains, tea and stains that come back after removal.

Carpet and upholstery spotting (bottle use)
1. Test on a small inconspicuous area first to ensure the suitability of the product on the surface.
2. Remove (sponge or scrape) any debris or excess stain deposits. The longer stains are left, the harder they are to remove.
3. Apply Browning & Watermark Remover via a cloth or by spray. Do not over-wet. Gently blot the stain. Never rub. Agitate gently with a carpet rake or upholstery brush. Stubborn stains may require further light agitation.
4. Leave for 10-20 minutes of dwell time.
5. Rinse and extract with a portable carpet cleaning machine using a pre-spray detergent. Plush (Carpet and upholstery rinse, softener & cleaner) should always be added to the solution tank water. If a machine is unavailable you can blot away with a damp clean white towel and then neutralise with Houdini stain remover or Aussie Encappa. Blot away again with another damp white towel to remove all chemical and stain residue.
6. Allow to dry.
7. Repeat or adjust the process if necessary.
Heavy-duty application (bottle use)
If you are concerned the browning stain could return after following the above procedures, you can spray a light solution of Browning & Watermark Remover over the surface and agitate in by carpet rake or upholstery brush. Then leave without rinsing. On rare occasions, if too much product is used a very fine (almost powder-like) white crystal can form on the carpet but this should be easily removed with a good dry vacuum.
Handy tips
• Attend to spots and spills as soon as possible. Fresh spots are significantly easier to remove. Stains that are left too long can become permanent. Using the wrong product can also set the stain or permanently damage the fibre.
• Do your stain removal working from the outside of larger stains to the inside. This prevents the stain from spreading.
• Always test first in an inconspicuous area before using any cleaning solution. Play it safe, especially when you use a product for the first time. Better to be safe than sorry. Some surfaces can be sensitive to moisture and particular chemical types.
What causes browning and watermark stains on carpet and upholstery?
1. Browning is most often caused by moisture in the cellulose fibre or jute backing of the carpet causing a wicking or colour bleeding effect. As the carpet dries, this browning stain travels up the fibre from the cellulose backing leaving an unsightly yellow/orange/brown stain with irregular edges on the surface.
2. Overwetting the carpet during the cleaning process, a flood or from excess water.
3. Poor carpet drying conditions (high humidity, inadequate ventilation.)
4. The use of highly alkaline chemicals that have not been sufficiently neutralised.
5. Poor or non-existent dry vacuuming before hot water extraction allows soils that are deeply embedded in the pile to travel up the carpet fibre as the carpet dries.
If the browning stains are severe is there anything else you can do to ensure the stain is removed and doesn’t come back?
For severe browning stains or when cleaning fibres that are especially susceptible to browning, you can add 100ml of Browning & Watermark Remover per 5L of solution water in the tank of your carpet cleaning machine instead of Plush rinse.
Will Browning & Watermark Remover remove every stain?
No. There is not one product that removes all carpet stains. This product is part of a complete professional stain removal system. It is important to familiarise yourself with the different products and how each of them works for the best result.
My stain won't come out. What should I do?
Oh Ohhh! Here are 2 options...
