The encap chemical is applied and agitated by a scrubbing machine with a pad, bonnet or brush into the dirty fibres. As it dries, the crystalline polymer surrounds and encapsulates any remaining detergent molecules and soils into a non-sticky, brittle crystal. These encapsulated crystals are tiny, almost powder like and are easily removed with subsequent vacuuming.
