Carpet and upholstery spotting (bottle use)
1. Use undiluted on carpets. On upholstery, dilute at 4:1 (4 parts water and 1 part Blood & Protein Remover). That's 80% water and 20% Blood & Protein Remover (150ml of Blood & Protein Remover in a 750ml bottle).
2. Test on a small inconspicuous area first to ensure the suitability of the product on the surface.
3. Remove (sponge or scrape) any debris or excess stain deposits. The longer stains are left, the harder they are to remove.
4. Apply Blood & protein Remover via a cloth or by spray. Do not over-wet. Gently blot the stain. Never rub. Agitate gently. Stubborn stains may require further light agitation.
5. Leave for a few minutes or for stubborn stains allow 5-10 minutes dwell time.
6. Blot spot from the outside in. Use a disposable wipe, clean white towel or extract with a machine.
7. Rinse and extract with a portable carpet cleaning machine using a pre-spray detergent. Plush (Carpet and upholstery rinse, softener & cleaner) should always be added to the solution tank water. If a machine is unavailable you can blot away with a damp clean white towel and then neutralise with Houdini stain remover or Aussie Encappa. Blot away again with another damp white towel to remove all chemical and stain residue.
8. Allow to dry.
9. Repeat or adjust the process if necessary.
*Always use the appropriate XO2 labelled product bottle.
Traffic lane and heavy soil cleaning (pre-spray method)
1. Dilute at 16:1 (16 parts water and 1 part Blood & Protein Remover). That's approximately 98% water and 2%
Blood & Protein Remover
(240ml of Blood & Protein Remover
in 4 litres of water or 60ml per litre). For heavy-duty applications, dilute at 9:1 (9 parts water and 1 part
Blood & Protein Remover).
2. Test on a small inconspicuous area first to ensure the suitability of this product.
3. Vacuum. Thoroughly dry vacuum with an upright vacuum cleaner or a vacuum fitted with a powerhead or turbo head to remove loose soil.
4. Pre-spray. Generously apply pre-spray. Do not allow to dry before extraction.
5. Agitate (Optional). If necessary, machine or manually agitate areas with a soft brush or scourer. Allow 5-10 minutes dwell time.
6. Extract and Clean. Using a portable carpet cleaning machine, clean/extract the fibres using slightly overlapping strokes. Always use Plush rinse in the solution tank. For best results use hot water.
7. Use a carpet rake or brush if necessary to re-align fibres and speed up drying. Using a carpet dryer, air mover or just turning on an air conditioning system may also speed up the drying process.
8. Dry. Before the area is opened to traffic allow to dry. Air movers will speed up drying and impress your customers!
Handy tips
• Attend to spots and spills as soon as possible. Fresh spots are significantly easier to remove. Stains that are left too long can become permanent. Using the wrong product can also set the stain or permanently damage the fibre.
• Do your stain removal working from the outside of larger stains to the inside. This prevents the stain from spreading.
• Always test first in an inconspicuous area before using any cleaning solution. Play it safe, especially when you use a product for the first time. Better to be safe than sorry. Some surfaces can be sensitive to moisture and particular chemical types.
Will Blood & Protein Remover remove every stain?
No. There is not one product that removes all carpet stains. This product is part of a complete professional stain removal system. It is important to familiarise yourself with the different products and how each of them works for the best result.
My stain won't come out. What should I do?
Oh Ohhh! Here are 2 options...
1. The stain is permanent damage and repair or replacement is required. Not all stains can be removed.
2. Progress to the next level of stain removal. See the 'how to remove carpet stains’ charts. In them, you’ll learn how specialty stain removers such as Houdini, Dry Safe, Wizz King and Browning Treatment work together for the best result.
